Day 91

Somebody needs to tell this baby that he CANNOT sit up yet. He won't even kick back and relax in his bouncer right now because he's too busy trying to get out of it!

I failed to get a picture of it, but earlier he was almost sideways, head off the side and had his head support pillow in his mouth chewing on it. That's what I get for walking out of the room for 5 seconds. I need a shoulder harness on this thing.

We're on our way to the Dr. to get vaccines. I tried to tell him not to be so happy about it but he wouldn't listen.

Back home again and he's not hurting too badly...yet.

We had some dinner and he enjoyed his sweet potatoes. A little too much since they are still on his forehead.

Poor widdle baby.

"Look at my boo-boos."
Getting ready for bed and it was impossible to get a smile. He spent most of the evening on me sleeping. Let's hope he sleeps tonight.

"Daddy, she wants me to go to bed but she still hasn't washed the sweet potato off of my face yet. Ugh. 'Night."

Day 90

Colby started the day off with smiles. That's always a good sign. And he must have had a rough night because that is some wild and crazy bed head.

I had to stop undressing him and step back because he was wiggling and kicking me so much I couldn't continue. So I just took a picture instead.

We went to go help Grandma put up the Christmas tree today. We didn't get anything accomplished, but it was still nice to get out of the house.

Playing airplane with Grandma. I think she was trying to get him to puke on me. It worked.

And that's what he thinks about being on the floor!

Awwwww, he's looking all sweet and cuddly. It just makes you want to pick him up and hold him, doesn't it?

And his plan worked.

Finally back home and he's so peaceful in his carseat. I really hate to disturb him.

"I'm so comfy, Daddy. Can I just sleep here? Oh well, goodnight."

Day 89

I'm a really bad blogger today but I promise to be better tomorrow.

We spent 12 hours out and about Christmas shopping, catching a movie and buying a Christmas tree. And I did not take one single photo until I got home. But because he was so thrilled to be back home after a long and arduous day, he was pretty freakin happy.

Nothing says adorable like a monkey hat with ear flaps.

I just undressed him and he was free of his many, many layers.

And he went straight into his PJs. All warm and snuggly for the rest of the night.

And this was about 30 seconds after he finished eating.

"So...sleepy...I can't...keep my eyes...open. Goodnight, Daddy."

Day 88

And a happy Friday to you!

Today was our first day of a solid food regimen. He's had rice cereal several times, but not on a regular basis and not with much success. But today was different. Today he ate. He really got the hang of eating off of the spoon and not just sucking. He even opened his mouth for more. Yay!

"Do I have something on my face?"

Post bath celebration.

After a tiring day of grocery shopping, it was time for dinner. On the menu was rice cereal and sweet potatoes. And I have to admit that I was a little freaked out at first when he spit up orange. Definitely not used to orange puke.

Time to work off those extra calories...

...by doing crunches. He'll have a six-pack before you know it.

Bedtime for baby and we broke out some new 9 month size jammies tonight for the monster. Maybe they'll last us through the winter.

"I'm trying to go to sleep and she's got that camera in my face again. Tell her to stop, Daddy. Well, goodnight."

Day 87

Today was Colby's 4 month well baby Dr. visit. He's doing perfectly well and the Dr. said he looked great. And quite handsome to boot.

Nov 17th (2 weeks ago)
15 lb 4 oz
25 1/4" long

Today
15 lb 9 oz - 50th-75th percentile
26 1/4" long - 90th-95th percentile
17" head circumference - 50th-75th percentile

His weight gain has slowed down a little. He was averaging a gain of 6 oz per week and he's only gained 5 oz in the last two weeks. But that's perfectly fine as he is still growing (and still above the curve)....1 inch in length in 15 days! Holy crap!!! And we go back Monday for immunizations. That should be loads of fun.

Here he is getting ready to get a bath for his Dr. appointment. He loves naked/bath time.

And on the cold table waiting to be poked and prodded. It was chilly in the exam room but he would not keep his blanket on. At one point I had him wrapped up in 2 blankets and he still kicked and pulled himself free. He's a claustrophobic exhibitionist.

Back at home and bouncing away.

"So. Much. Fun!"
This is one of his 9 month outfits that barely fits. He was swimming in it a few weeks ago. Santa may have to bring him some new clothes at this rate.

He had some time in his jumper before bed.

It's not looking good...

Aaaaand here's the meltdown.

Alright. He was officially tired. PJ time.

"Jumping just wears me out, Daddy. I can't help it. G'night!"

Day 86

Let's all just pretend that I actually posted this last night when I was supposed to, OK? I was super busy with a house full of kids and by the time they left and I got Colby into bed, I was done. There was no blogging, only bed.

So let us reflect on the 1st day of December...

Colby woke up extremely happy. I'm guessing because it's officially Christmastime! And it's the most wonderful time of the year.

He's so alert now...so aware of everything around him.

"Oh, hello there."
Bouncing away like a wild man.

Part of the reason I was so busy? A cat demanding his dinner.

So yes, we skipped much of the day. I'll sum it up for you: smiling, laughing, eating, drooling, barfing, pooping. And throw in a couple of naps.

"I've gotta get some sleep, Daddy. These neighbor kids wore me out! Goodnight."
