Day 16

Today started out A-OK.

Yup, feeling pretty good. We went for a pedicure today and again, he charmed the ladies. But really, how could they resist this face?

After lunch, he had some playtime on the floor. Steele joined in the fun.

And then we flipped over for some tummy time...he's still not crazy about it.

He does, however, like sitting up in his seat. And he's getting pretty good at it.

I can't decide why he's so mad at me. Is it because I dressed him like a farmer or because he's wearing silly, striped socks that are obviously too small for him?

Either way, he forgave me and we hung out for a while on the couch. With Remington.

And this was right before he kicked the cat in the head. You can see it in his eyes...he knew what he was doing.

Time for Colby and his big fat belly to go to bed. Seriously, he's got a mighty beer belly going.

"Oh...so full. Time to say goodnight Dad."

Day 14

We spent a quiet morning at home after getting a wonderful, 8 1/2 hours of sleep last night. Oh, how I hope this lasts. This afternoon we had a trip to the chiropractor. He was such a good boy while we were there. He really charmed the ladies.

It was really hot outside this afternoon so the air conditioner was pumping out the cold air. And a cold house = cozy snuggle time.

"Oh, I'm so warm. This is nice."
"Hi."
He just pooped and I think he was really proud of himself.

There was apparently something really interesting on the wall. The best I can come up with is the light switch. Fascinating.

He seems to like it.

And apparently finds it hysterical!

Things are not so funny now. This is one serious face. He didn't like me telling him it was time for bed. The paci just popped right out.

"Fine. I'll go to bed. Goodnight, Dad."

Day 8

Another lazy morning. Not much was going on except getting ready for my 6 week postpartum checkup. Little man slept a lot.

Back home and full of energy. Those neck and back muscles are getting stronger!

Hanging out on the play mat. He's actually playing with the dangling toys a little. They at least have his attention now.

Nom nom nom. Grandma's feet have been the highlight of Steele's day.

It's bedtime and he's soooooo sleepy.

Nevermind, he's awake now.

Check out that outie!
And those fat rolls!!!
"OK, sleepy again. G'night, Dad."

Day 7

Today had a slow start. Snugglebug was up until 2:00am and slept until 9:30am. And then, he still wasn't too interested in really waking up.

So I decided that a bath would help.

"Fine. I'm awake now."
I'm glad Steele and I had the talk about not sleeping on the laundry or Colby's playmat.

Colby was really excited to go to the audiologist and get his hearing checked.

"C'mon! Let's go!"
And his smug smile when we got back home tells you he passed with flying colors.

"Huh? What did you say? I couldn't hear you! <<hehehehehe>> "
As hard as I tried to capture his smiles and coos on video, he just wouldn't cooperate. So I give you wiggles, grunts and reflux:

All worn out and ready for a nap. And can I just mention how proud I am that I didn't have to change his clothes at all today? This may be a first!

And later in the night, it's finally bedtime. He snores just like his daddy.

"Goodnight, Daddy."

Day 6

Oh, what a beautiful morning. Colby slept 7 hours last night and woke up in a great mood. I'm so lucky to have a mostly happy baby. Mostly.

"That's right. Rockin' a fauxhawk."
"Yup. In my crib. But I'm still not going to sleep in it."

We were really bored today, so we went to Target. Colby was less than impressed, but I had fun spending Daddy's money.

And because he has been trying like crazy to sit up today, I bought him a new chair. He's still too young to be sitting up, but he does so well holding his head, this will just help to strengthen those muscles. It's made for 3 month to 14 month old babies, but the seat belt is 3/4 of the way to being maxed out! He's such a fatty. Maybe I'm biased, but he seems to be ahead of the curve for a 6 week old. He didn't do too badly for his first try.

Happy.

Angry.

Smile. Concentration. Poop. Reflection.

This little guy has had a long day. Time to say goodnight.

"Goodnight, Daddy."

Day 5

The little man woke up in a great mood. Which was good, considering he kept me up half the night.

After wearing himself out by being cute, the good mood quickly vanished and Grumpy McFussypants was in dire need of a nap.

And as soon as he woke up, he was all smiles. It totally made up for his crankiness this morning.

"Dude! I'm totally surfing!"
I just love that he talks to me now. And excuse the poor quality. I had to record this on my digital camera since someone hid the camcorder.

Neighbors Greg and Angie invited us over for a BBQ this evening, but I have a feeling they really just wanted to see Colby.

And as soon as Angie held him, he was out.

He finally woke up when it was time to go home.

My happy little guy was still smiling when it was time for bed.

"Can you believe this stupid outfit I'm wearing? **sigh** Oh well. Goodnight, Daddy."
